Linda Z. Polacek

Linda Z. Polacek is a candidate for Illinois State Senate in District 23, a Marine Corps veteran, wife, mother of two, community volunteer, and current commissioner at the York Center Park District.

Born and raised in Illinois, Linda was taught the values of hard work, service, and perseverance by her Mexican American father and Texan mother. After graduating high school, she joined the United States Marine Corps, where she learned leadership, resilience, discipline, and how to make decisions under pressure. She later attended Northwestern Business College while working full-time, then helped operate her family’s small business before dedicating years to raising her children and serving her community.

Throughout the years, Linda has coached youth soccer, volunteered in local and private schools, supported athletic and music booster programs, organized fundraisers, served on Parent-Teacher Advisory Committees, and remains active in community organizations including the Villa Park Women’s Club. She is also a member and volunteer with the VFW and volunteers with the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce during their Harley Bike Nights.

Linda is running for State Senate because she believes Illinois families are being ignored by career politicians while struggling under rising costs and high taxes. She is focused on three priorities:

* Making Illinois more affordable by fighting high property taxes, supporting tax relief, and promoting responsible budgeting.
* Reforming government through stronger ethics laws, anti-corruption measures, and support for independent redistricting.
* Strengthening communities by putting residents first, supporting local families, and delivering practical solutions instead of partisan fighting.

Linda believes families deserve affordable living, transparent leadership, and a government that works for the people — not political insiders.
